This mirror requires no special adhesives. Nor do you need to moisten the suction cup. Simply press onto windshield in desired location and press lever to lock the suction cup. This is all you need to do. It really does stay on for weeks and months. Occasionally, extreme heat or cold will loosen its grip.

"I researched suction cup mirrors in general and saw many comments on problems with both low visual quality and a vibrating image.  I found the Student Driver Products mirrors and after looking at the reviews, ordered a model 118.  The reason that I needed it is for a car I race on road courses that has a large rear wing that partially blocks the oem rear view mirror, and you definitely need to be able to see what’s going on around you on the track. (I drive the car on the street also, so I don’t want to remove the stock rear view mirror and replace it with a typical racing mirror).  I tested the 118 first on a long “Sunday Drive” and it did fine.  On the track a couple of days ago it also did fine—no vibration and it stayed in place.  Product is working well for me."   Phil Crain
